A leafy outlook in Westmead meets warm, lifestyle-first styling

This Westmead two-bedroom apartment had everything going for it — dual balconies, two ensuites, and a spacious split-level layout. But there was just one problem: it looked cold. Not literally, but emotionally.

Buyers walked in and shrugged.

The structure was sound, the layout practical, but without styling, the apartment felt more like a rental than a home. The plain cabinetry, tiled floors, and clean white walls lacked personality. It didn’t help that both balconies — a rare luxury — felt underwhelming and disconnected from the interior.

That’s where we stepped in.

The Strategy

Our brief was clear: transform a minimalist, two-level floorplan into an emotionally engaging first-home-buyer dream — one that balances function and charm across all zones.

We took a layered approach:

  • Living room: Anchored the space with a soft sand-toned rug and cloud-grey sofas. We added bold striped cushions for contrast and a curved marble coffee table to introduce a hint of luxe. The artwork — a moody coastal print — spoke to the apartment’s serene, leafy surrounds.
  • Balconies: These were too good to waste. We styled each with matching rattan armchairs and palm-leaf cushions, drawing a direct visual line from inside to outside. Suddenly, the balcony wasn’t just extra space — it became a lifestyle moment.
  • Dining zone: The kitchen was functional but visually cold. So, we introduced warmth through earthy-toned dining chairs, natural wood textures, and a statement floral centrepiece. Now the space felt like a place to gather, not just to cook.
  • Bedrooms: Each received a unique identity. One room was styled with warm mustards and floral wall prints — evoking softness and light. The other leaned into monochrome sophistication, with a textural grey throw and graphic artwork. Together, they told two emotional stories: comfort and clarity.

Throughout, we used tall vertical lines — art, floor lamps, and accessories — to play off the apartment’s high ceilings, making the entire space feel more open and breathable.

The Result?
